Parts Hunting

I am enjoying the phenomena of parts hunting lately and taking Nalah for long drives just to get hard-to-find parts at dirt cheap prices. I recently took a 1 hour drive to my Mom province to find myself a 1k rear windscreen, wiper washer motor and tank, a herschmann antenna, benz plates, a sunroof motor, and vacuum motor for my automatic locks.

My trunk now looks like a crazy parts store.

To date, what I've already done on my car are the following:
  • Changed Brake Pads
  • Changed Tirads
  • Replaced Rear Stabilizers
  • Changed centerlink
  • Changed Steering shock
  • changed radiator
  • changed thermostat to 71 deg
  • changed radiator cap
  • changed oil cap
  • rehabilitated side panels and dash
  • rehabilitated plastics
  • changed sunroof rubbers and repaired drainage
  • changed sunroof motor
  • installed windshield washers
  • replaced rear windscreen
Quite a lot already, and yet quite a few more to go!

First Post

Ok so I finally got my 1st benz that I bought for myself and the addiction has began. I got it last December 22, 2010 and it was a beauty. I wish I took photos of the moment, but alas foresight was lost when I saw it. It was love at first sight.

I am now a proud owner of a 1982 300 SD.

Yes, it is indeed na S-Class. And yes it is a diesel. It was one of the last over engineered S classes that the german carmakers made. With power windows, a sunroof, power seats, climate control, cruise control, etc. This was a car built for luxury and it showed with its ride and comfort.

I've done a lot of things already since I got the car and I'll be blogging about its final restoration. I am excited, nervous, worried, excited (did I just say that again?), and at the same time curious as to the limits of the car.

I'm hoping for a speedy recovery.
